Drůbeží maso je považováno za dietetické díky svému nízkému obsahu tuku a výborné stravitelnosti. Díky tomu a velmi krátké době výkrmu, která se pohybuje okolo 35 dní, spotřeba drůbežího masa stoupá. Metoda in ovo může být využita pro výživu kuřete před vylíhnutím, které tak ušetří živiny žloutkového vaku v období mezi vylíhnutím a transportem do chovu, kde je mu poprvé k dispozici potrava. Ušetřené živiny žloutkového vaku jsou kuřeti k dispozici k rozvoji imunitního systému namísto spotřeby pro záchovné účely. Metoda in ovo může být také využita pro včasnou vakcinaci kuřat ještě ve vejci, kdy tato kuřata nepřišla do styku s daným patogenem. Další nespornou výhodou této metody je možnost určování pohlaví nevylíhnutých kuřat. Poultry meat is considered dietetic due to its low fat content and excellent digestibility. Thanks to very short fattening period, which is about 35 days, the consumption of poultry meat is increasing. The in ovo method can be used to nutrition of chicken before hatching, which saves the yolk sac nutrients between hatching and transport to the farm where feed is available to the chicken for the first time. Saved nutrients of the yolk sac are available to the chicken to develop the immune system instead of consumption for conservation purposes. The in ovo method can also be used for the early vaccination of chickens still in the egg, when the chickens did not come into contact with the pathogens. Another indisputable advantage of this method is the possibility of determining the sex of unhatched chickens.
