Již od dob prvních pokusů o šlechtění rostlin udělal tento obor velké pokroky. Moje práce se zaměřuje na průřez metodami jak klasickými, tak i moderními, které v současné době zaznamenávají velký rozmach. Z moderních genetických metod jsem se zaměřila převážně na metody, které vychází z PCR analýzy. Kladem těchto metod je hlavně jejich přesnost, rychlost a opakovatelnost s využitím velmi malého množství vstupního materiálu. Záporem je však zatím poměrně velká pořizovací cena vybavení do laboratoří i to, že musíme mít kvalifikovaný laboratorní personál. Přes své klady i zápory by genetické metody sami o sobě nemohli spolehlivě fungovat a je velmi vhodné je doplnit o metody klasického šlechtění. Since the first attempts at plant breeding, this field has made great strides. My work focuses on a cross-section of both classical and modern methods, which are currently booming. From modern genetic methods I focused mainly on methods that are based on PCR analysis. The main advantage of these methods is their accuracy, speed and repeatability using a very small amount of input material. However, the relatively large purchase price of equipment for laboratories and the fact that we must have qualified laboratory personnel is a negative. Despite their pros and cons, genetic methods could not work reliably on their own, and it is a good idea to add classical breeding methods.
