Abstract: The paper is focused on aerodynamic characteristics of the tip section of a steam turbine last stage rotor blade with an active span 1220 mm. The tip cascade is aerodynamically highly loaded with supersonic outlet flow at design of Ma = 1,6. CFD simulations with a Navier-Stokes code were used to design the flow structure. The results of calculations are discussed and compared with measured flow structures.
