Abstract: As the demand for broadband e-services is increasing, there is a good chance for the cable TV operators to successfully compete with the traditional telecommunication operators in providing the services taking advantage of their broadband infrastructure. The paper reviews the Czech telecommunications arena focusing on the role of CATV operators and service providers in general and of the small and medium ones in particular.
