Lithium-sulphur batteries have the potential to increase battery capacity while maintaining their weight and volume. This is possible due to the high theoretical energy density of sulphur. However these batteries suffer from several failing, which still hinder practical use. The use of amorphous sulphur instead of its crystalline form leads to increasing of cyclic stability and charge efficiency. Inverse vulcanization of sulphur seems to be perspective method for the preparation of polymer sulphur, because it prevents its recrystallization and stabilizes amorphous sulphur.
