Schopnost termoregulace hraje v životě organismů důležitou roli, ať už během hledání potravy, úniku před predátory, pohlavního výběru, tak u přezimování. Kromě toho však může tlak na efektivní termoregulaci organismy ovlivňovat i na evoluční úrovni. Někteří autoři se kloní ke tvrzení, že stojí rovněž za udržováním tzv. nepřesné mimeze u pestřenkovitých (Diptera, Syrphidae). Tato diplomová práce si klade dva cíle: 1) studovat vztah mezi termoregulací, přesností mimeze a napodobovaným modelem, 2) blíže prozkoumat efekt vývojové teploty na příkladu středně přesného mimetika včely medonosné, pestřenky Eristalis tenax. V první části projektu byl změřen rozdíl mezi teplotou těla a teplotou prostředí (Tdiff) u 566 jedinců 47 druhů pestřenek. Mezi přesností mimeze a Tdiff nebyl nalezen průkazný vztah. Bylo však zjištěno, že pestřenky v Tdiff vykazují výrazný pohlavní dimorfismus. Zatímco Tdiff samic byl nižší a příliš nezávisel na vnitřních nebo vnějších faktorech, samci měli vyšší Tdiff, který byl silně ovlivněn aktivitou (letící > sedící) a napodobovaným modelem (čmeláčí mimetici > mimetici včely medonosné > mimetici vos > mimetici drobných tmavých včel). Patrně jde o důsledek silného tlaku pohlavního výběru na termoregulaci samců během dvoření (leku). Druhá část projektu byla zaměřena na vývoj pestřenky... Thermoregulation plays an important role in organisms' lives during foraging, escaping from predators, sexual selection or overwintering. Moreover, pressure on efficient thermoregulation could affect species on an evolutionary level and was recently hypothesized to maintain imperfect mimicry in hoverflies (Diptera, Syrphidae). We set these two aims: 1) to study relationships between thermoregulation, mimicry accuracy and resembled model, 2) to closely study effect of developmental temperature in an intermediately accurate honeybee mimic, Eristalis tenax. In the first part of the project, we examined temperature excess of 566 specimens in 47 species of hoverflies in the field. We did not find significant effect of mimicry accuracy on temperature excess in our data. However, we found a strong sexual dimorphism. Females had lower temperature excess, which was very resilient to internal and external factors, whereas males had higher temperature excess, influenced by activity at time of capture (flying > sitting) and resembled model (bumblebee-mimics > honeybee- mimics > wasp-mimics > solitary bee-mimics). We suggest, that males are pushed to higher temperature excess by sexual selection within lekking. In the second part of the project, we reared E. tenax in three different temperatures in laboratory...
