Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá charakteristikou zla a strachu v díle Stephena Kinga. V úvodní části je popsána historie gotického románu, kterým se Stephen King inspiroval. Další část popisuje Kingův život se zaměřením na aspekty, které ovlivnily jeho tvorbu. V praktické části se nachází rozřazení vybraných děl tohoto spisovatele do několika skupin (nadpřirozeno, stroje, zvířata, prostor, náboženský fanatismus, lidé) podle typu zla, které se v nich vyskytuje, a jejich následná analýza. This bachelor thesis deals with the characteristic of evil and fear in the work of Stephen King. The initial part describes the history of Gothic fiction, which inspired Stephen King. The next part discusses King´s life with the focus on the aspects which affected his work. In the practical part there is sorting of the selected works into several categories (the supernatural, machines, animals, space, religious fanaticism, people) according to the type of evil which occurs there, together with their analysis.
