Quasistatic, rapid and impact tensile test of cylindrical smoothed and notched specimen of type 304 stainless steel was carried out at room temperature. The high strength at the lower strain rate was due to the beneficial effect of the martensite formation. The applicability of the recrystallisation technique to high strain rate deformation was examined using tapered cylindrical specimen. V rámci práce bylyl relizovány kvazistatické, rychlé a dynamické zkoušky při pokojových teplotách válcových zkušebních tyčí hladkých a s mělkým vrubem z austenitické oceli 304. Vyšší pevnost při nižších rychlostech deformace byla pozorována díky příznivému účinku deformačně indukovaného martensitu. Na základě zkoušek tyčí s kuželovitým průřezem byla testována aplikovatelnost rekrystalizační techniky při vyšších rychlostech deformace.
