Elektrochemické děje na rozhraní dvou nemísitelných elektrolytů vzbuzují zájem již několik desítek let. Je zřejmé, že mezifázová elektrochemie patří k základním kamenům pole iontově selektivních elektrod, dále pak senzorů a průtokových detektorů. Je zde ještě třetí aplikační možnost, jejíž význam prudce stoupá: lze vytvářet dobře definované modely dějů na biologických membránách, tedy na hranicích rostlinných a živočišných buněk. It is demonstrated that the phospholipid modified interfaces can serve as simple models for certain interactions occurring at biological cell membranes. One of the most important aspects of such studies is the formation and behaviour of a phospholipid membrane at the interface. A five-step mechanism has been proposed for the lecithin adsorption/desorption process, involving sorption, acid-base and association/dissociation interactions.
