Diplomová práce se věnuje tomu, proč se na trhu práce dokáží lépe uplatnit absolventi Filozofické fakulty Západočeské univerzity než jejich kolegové z Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Pardubice. Práce se snaží zjistit, jakými faktory je to způsobeno. Tím chce přispět k identifikaci opatření vhodných pro zlepšení uplatnění absolventů humanitních oborů na trhu práce. V práci rozlišujeme vnější a vnitřní faktory. Výběr všech faktorů je podrobně vysvětlen a zdůvodněn. Vnějšími faktory jsou segmentace trhu práce a regionální situace na pracovním trhu. Vnitřní faktory jsou prestiž vysoké školy, praxe při studiu, rozsah důrazu na měkké kompetence a rozsah karierního poradenství. Práce je dvou případovou studií, která se snaží o hluboké a komplexní pochopení zkoumaného jevu. Využity byly strukturované rozhovory se zaměstnanci kariérních center Univerzity Pardubice a Západočeské univerzity. Základem práce je však analýza studijních povinností studentů těchto fakult. Srovnávat mezi sebou dvě fakulty patřící k jiným univerzitám je poměrně složité a v České republice neobvyklé. Práce má proto své limity, které jsou v jejím závěru uvedeny. V práci je také rozebrána strukturální proměna vysokého školství v České republice, protože ta má zásadní dopad na uplatnění absolventů vysokých škol na trhu práce. The thesis concerns the causes why do graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen perform better on the labour market than their colleagues at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of Pardubice. The thesis tries to find out what factors it is caused by. It wants to contribute to identify the appropriate measures to improve the employability of the humanities graduates. We distinguish between external and internal factors. The selection of all factors is explained and justified in detail. External factors are labour market segmentation and regional labour market situation. Internal factors are prestige of the college, professional experience while studying, extent of emphasis on soft skills in teaching and range of career counselling. The thesis is two case studies and its goal is to offer a profound and comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon being researched. Structured interviews with employees of career centres of the University of Pardubice and the University of West Bohemia were utilised. However, the basis of the thesis is the study duties analysis of the students at these faculties.
