Tato práce se skládá ze dvou částí. První částí překlad vybraného úseku knihy Law 101. Everything You Need to Know About American Law a druhou je komentář k překladu. Komentář popisuje reflexi překladatelského procesu. Je rozdělen na čtyři oddíly: analýzu výchozího textu podle modelu Ch. Nordové, stručný popis metody a teoretického zadání překladu, analýzu nejzásadnějších překladatelských problémů (se zvláštním důrazem na převod právní terminologie) a typologii posunů podle A. Popoviče. This thesis consists of two parts. The first part is a Czech translation of a chosen section of the book Law 101. Everything You Need to Know About American Law, and the second part is the commentary to the translation. The commentary reflects the translation process. It is divided into four subsections: source-text analysis according to the model of Ch. Nord, a short description of the translation method and the theoretical translation brief, an analysis of the most significant translation problems (with an emphasis on the translation of legal terminology) and the typology of translation shifts according to A. Popovič.
