Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zjistit, zda rodiče dětí v batolecím věku s opožděným psychomotorickým vývojem podstupující léčebně lázeňský pobyt podávají potravinové doplňky, důvody rodičů k podávání doplňků stravy, jaké druhy a jak často je podávají. Dále byly také zjišťovány stravovací zvyklosti těchto dětí. Výzkumu se zúčastnily děti s dětskou mozkovou obrnou a centrálním hypotonickým syndromem batolecího věku. K sběru dat bylo využito kvantitativní metody výzkumu formou anonymního dotazníku. Celkem se zúčastnilo 50 respondentů. Z výsledků se ukázalo, že 72% (n=36) rodičů již v takto útlém věku doplňky stravy svým dětem podává. Jako nejčastější motiv k podávání doplňků stravy bylo uváděno na podporu imunity. Mezi nejvíce podávané doplňky ve vzorku patří vitaminové preparáty. Šetření dále ukázalo, že ani skladba stravy dětí ze vzorku není ideální. Výsledky prokázaly, že je nanejvýš žádoucí se více věnovat edukaci v oblasti výživy rodičů dětí s neurologickým postižením a především také zajistit větší informovanost o doplňcích stravy. Klíčová slova: doplňky stravy, výživa, batolecí období, opožděný psychomotorický vývoj, vitaminy, dětská mozková obrna The thesis aimed at finding out whether parents of toddlers with delayed psychomotor development undergoing curative spa stays administer food supplements, their reasons for administering them and what kinds and how often food supplements are administered. Eating habits of these children were looked into as well. Children with polio and central infantile hypotonic syndrome took part in the research. Quantitative research method using an anonymous questionnaire was employed for data collection. Altogether, there were 50 respondents. The results showed that 72 % (n=36) of parents already administered their children food supplements at such an early age. The most frequent motive for this was to strengthen the immune system. Vitamin supplements counted among the most frequently administered supplements in the sample. Furthermore, the research showed that not even the food composition of children in the sample was ideal. The results proved that it is highly desirable to pursue nutrition education of parents of children with neurological handicaps and chiefly also assure higher awareness of food supplements.
