Tato práce se zabývá náklady zdravotních pojišťoven na léčbu diabetu 2. typu a jeho výskytem v populaci ČR. Diabetes mellitus 2. typu je závažné chronické onemocnění, jehož prevalence v posledních letech roste po celém světě a s ní přirozeně rostou i náklady, které tvoří mnohdy velkou část výdajů zdravotních systémů. Cílem této práce je představit možné metody, kterými lze z dostupných dat diabetika identifikovat a následně u těchto jedinců analyzovat nákladovost z pohledu českých zdravotních pojišťoven. Dosud publikované studie nejsou z dnešního pohledu dostatečně aktuální nebo využívají malého vzorku pacientů. Práce by v této sféře měla poskytnout velmi přesné a aktuální informace, jelikož využívá dat pojišťoven z roku 2015, která zahrnují mimo jiné individuální náklady na každého pojištěnce. K identifikaci diabetika jsou použity dva základní přístupy - vykázaná diagnóza a různá množství roční spotřeby léčiv typických pro diabetes. Ze studie vychází, že celkové náklady na diabetiky 2. typu v ČR se pohybují v rozmezí 19 až 44 mld. Kč v závislosti na použité metodě. Analýza dále ukazuje, že s přibývajícím věkem rostou průměrné náklady na diabetika, přičemž tyto náklady jsou až dvakrát vyšší ve srovnání s běžnou populací. This thesis examines costs of type 2 diabetes for health insurance companies and occurrence of this disease in Czech Republic. Diabetes mellitus is a serious chronical disease, the prevalence and treatment costs of which have raised over last few years all over the world, while capturing a large part of expenditures of health systems. The aim of this study is to introduce particular methods that may be used to identify individuals with diabetes from available datasets and subsenquently analyze the expenses from the view of Czech health insurance companies. Studies published to date does not seem to be relevant anymore or they examine a small sample of patients. The thesis should provide accurate and actual information since it uses datasets from 2015 provided by health insurance companies and data containing individual costs of policyholders. In order to identify diabetics two approaches are used - diagnosis and various quantities of drug consumption of typical pharmaceuticals. The study implies that the costs of the treatment of diabetes fall between 19 and 44 billion CZK annualy depending on applied method.
