Práce se zabývá životem, dílem a sociálně-charitativními aspekty pátera Pia z Pietrelciny. Skládá se ze tří samostatných kapitol. První kapitola nabízí informace o průběhu života italského světce. Pojednává o životních událostech a o důležitých lidech v životě pátera Pia. Okrajově nastiňuje i historickou dobu dvacátého století. Další kapitola, v pořadí druhá, je zaměřena na dvě velká sociální díla svatého Pia z Pietrelciny, jejichž je zakladatelem. Pojednává o klinice "Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza", a o "Modlitebních skupinách". Obě tato díla jsou i dnes v neustálém rozkvětu. Třetí a současně poslední kapitola se věnuje sociálním aspektům života a osobnosti pátera Pia. Pojednává o smyslu pro humor, charismatických darech, svátosti smíření, utrpení, modlitbě a mariánské úctě, korespondenci a také popularitě svatého Pia z Pietrelciny. The thesis deals with the life, work and socio-charitable aspects of Father Pio of Pietrelcina. It is composed of three individual sections. The first chapter provides information about the life of the Italian Saint. It discusses the life events and his work and also the important people in father Pio's life. It just briefly outlines the historical period of the twentieth century. The next chapter, in order the second, is focused on two major social works of Saint Pio, of which he is the founder. It discusses the clinic "Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza" and "Prayer groups". Both of these works have been prospering and continuing to flourish nowadays. The third and last chapter is devoted to social aspects of life and personality of Father Pio. It describes the sense of humour, charismatic gifts, sacrament of reconciliation, suffering, prayer and Marian veneration, correspondence and also the popularity of the saint Pio of Pietrelcina .
