Keywords: the design of squared geometry fuel assemblies is described. In addition; the principle of PWR reactors is described first. Then; there is an introduction to the benchmark that serves for validation of reactor physics computational programs. In the practical part of the thesis SCALE code system and Polaris module are described. The model of the fuel assembly is then created according to the parameters given by the benchmark. The results of simulations performed in the Polaris module are then compared with the results provided by the benchmark.; This thesis deals with validation of Polaris module for code system SCALE. In the theoretical part; today’s manufacturers of these fuel assemblies are listed together with the parameters of typical representatives of their products.
