Bakalářská práce se zabývá historii neodkladné resuscitace a osobností prof. Petera Safara. V první části bakalářské práce popisuji počáteční pokusy o neodkladnou resuscitaci. Ve druhé části práce se zabývám životem a prací prof. Petera Safara rakouského lékaře s českými kořeny. V práci přináším přehled pokusů, které nebyly založeny na vědeckých poznatcích. A to především kvůli omezeným znalostem z anatomie a fyziologie. Dalším zpomalením vývoje byla zajisté i víra, která byla inhibitorem v získávání dalších vědomostí o lidském těle. Díky náboženství lidé věřili na posmrtný život, proto se s mrtvým nesmělo po smrti hýbat natož, aby bylo povoleno provádění pitev. Ale jen díky těmto zkušenostem z minulosti jsme se mohli poučit natolik, že jsme se mohli posunout kupředu a vyrazit správným směrem k pochopení pacientových potřeb komplexně. V současnosti jsou Evropskou radou pro resuscitaci v pětiletých intervalech vydávány doporučené postupy pro neodkladnou resuscitaci, obsahující algoritmy na základě "evidence based medicine". Pro tuto práci bylo zvoleno teoretické zpracování. Cíly práce je analyzovat vývoj technik neodkladné resuscitace a zmapovat roli profesora P. Safara ve vývoji technik neodkladné resuscitace. Závěrem této bakalářské práce jsou dvě tabulky se shrnutím nejdůležitějších poznatků, které jsou umístěny do seznamu příloh. První tabulka shrnuje historii neodkladné resuscitace od nejstarších nalezených zmínek o resuscitaci. Druhá tabulka znázorňuje práci prof. Petera Safara. The thesis deals with the history of urgent resuscitation and with the life and work of Professor Peter Safar. In the first part of the thesis, the first attempts of urgent resuscitation are described. The second part of the thesis focuses on life and work of Professor Peter Safar, the Austrian doctor with Czech ancestors. The thesis discusses the first attempts that were not based on scientific knowledge, mainly because of the lack of the knowledge about the anatomy and physiology. Another aspect that slowed down the development in discovering new facts about human body was religion. Because of the religion people believe in afterlife that is why they could not manipulate with the body after death nor even dissect the body. But thanks to the experience from past we could learn a lot to move forward and fully understand the complex needs of the patient. Today, each five years the recommended processes how to do an urgent resuscitation are published by the European commission for resuscitation which consists of algorithms based on the evidence based medicine. The theoretical kind of work was chosen for this thesis. The objective of the thesis is to analyse the development of the techniques of urgent resuscitation and to show the role of Professor Peter Safar in this development. In the conclusion of the thesis there are two charts showing the most important facts, which are placed in a list of attachments. The first chart sums up the history of urgent resuscitation from the oldest found notes about resuscitation. The second one presents the work of Professor Peter Safar.
