Vícerozměrné časově-měřítkové zobrazení signálu popisuje časový průběh krátkodobé energie signálu v kmitočtových sub pásmech a proto hraje významnou roli při analýze a zpracování digitálních signálů. Na parametrech použité transformační funkce, závisí nejen rozlišovací schopnosti zobrazení v časové i kmitočtové oblasti, ale také výpočetní náročnost celého algoritmu. Multidimensional time-scale representations of signals are images of changes in time of short time sub band energy and thus play an important role when they are analyzed and processed. The properties depend on the transformation algorithm used, and they differ not only in the resolution of changes in the time and the scale domain but also in the computation complexity during the realization.
