Zobrazení lva se v Řecku opakovaně objevuje v souvislosti s božskými kulty či mytologickými výjevy, především však ve funerálním kontextu jako označení hrobu zemřelého. Z nespočtu dochovaných příkladů vybočují monumentální plastiky spojované s jednotlivými hrobkami či polyandreii, mezi jejichž nejznámější příklady patří lvi v Chairóneii a Amfipoli. Jejich význam však může být i kommemorativní. Cílem této bakalářské práce je utřídit za využití archeologických a písemných pramenů všechny známé příklady monumentálních lvů v takovýchto souvislostech a vyhledat případné vztahy mezi nimi. V úvodní kapitole je nastíněn vývoj zobrazení motivu lva v řeckém prostoru od archaické do helénistické doby. V následujících kapitolách je sestaven přehled jednotlivých lvích památníků a význam, který jim je přisuzován v daných případech využití. V závěru jsou představené příklady konfrontovány a sledovány jejich vztahy a rozdíly, ať už místní či chronologické. The representation of lion in Greece repeatedly occurs in connection with divine cults or a myth, but chiefly in funeral context as grave markers. Among numerous preserved examples there are monumental sculptures associated with tombs and polyandria. Their best-known examples are lion of Chaeronea and lion of Amphipolis. However, their meaning may also be commemorative. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate all known examples of monumental lions in such contexts by using archeological data and literary sources and to determine relations between them. The first chapter outlines the evolution of the lion's motif in Greece from the Archaic to the Hellenistic period. The following chapters provide an overview of the individual lion monuments and the meaning attributed to them. In the conclusion, the individual monuments are compared and their relations and differences are observed, whether local or chronological.
