Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o Estonsku jako malém státě a jeho potenciálu a postavení v mezinárodních vztazích, věnuje se estonské ekonomice a také jeho zahraniční politice. První kapitola se zabývá pojmy malý stát, zahraniční politika a zahraniční politika malého státu a jejich případnými definicemi či charakteristikami. Ve druhé kapitole se práce stručně věnuje historii Estonska, jeho postupné transformaci na demokratický stát a jeho současné situaci. Zaměřuje se také na určitá estonská specifika, věnuje se i estonským hodnotám či stručně zmiňuje estonskou kulturu. Další kapitola se soustředí na estonskou zahraniční politiku, její cíle, vývoj a změny, ke kterým po osamostatnění státu došlo. V poslední kapitole práce zkoumá estonskou ekonomiku a oblasti, ve kterých se Estonsku daří, ve kterých si vede značně lépe než jiné státy nebo ve kterých je dokonce výjimečné. Je zde popsána také postupná transformace estonské ekonomiky po vyhlášení nezávislosti v roce 1991 a její přeorientování se na Západ. Tato kapitola se také věnuje pěti vybraným mezinárodním indexům, ve kterých porovnává postavení Estonska s jinými státy. This bachelor thesis focuses on Estonia as a small state and its potential and position in international relations, it also focuses on Estonian economy and its foreign policy. First chapter concerns terms such as a small state, foreign policy and foreign policy of a small state and their possible definitions or characteristics. Second chapter focuses briefly on Estonian history, Estonian transformation to democratic state and current situation of Estonia. It also describes some Estonian specifics, its values and it briefly concerns Estonian culture. Next chapter focuses on Estonian foreign policy, its objectives, development and changes that have been implemented after gaining independance. Last chapter analyses Estonian economy and domains where Estonia has a good position or much better position than other states or even where Estonia shows especial potential. It also describes transformation of Estonian economy after gaining independance in 1991 and its reorientaion to the West. This chapter also focuses on five selected international indexes and it compares Estonian position in them with positions of other states.
