Cílem této bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda je výnosné studovat vysokou školu a jaká je návratnost a výnosnost z takové investice do lidského kapitálu. V teoretické části práce se zaměřuji na teorii lidského kapitálu, především s důrazem na vzdělání, která předpokládá vyšší výnosy s vyšším vzděláním. Literární rešerše naznačuje pravdivost stanovené hypotézy, že nejvýhodnější je studovat vysokou školu a zakončit ji ziskem magisterského titulu. V praktické části hypotézu úspěšně verifikuji pomocí výpočtů individuální míry návratnosti investic do vzdělání, vnitřního výnosového procenta a čisté současné hodnoty. Pouhé studium bakalářského stupně se ukazuje jako daleko méně výhodné než studium magisterské, a tak práce může pomoci studentům při jejich rozhodování, zda studovat vysokou školu. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the profitability of tertiary degree studies and to compare the returns and profitability of such investment in human capital. In the theoretical section of this work I focus on the theory of human capital, especially with emphasis on education, which assumes higher earnings with higher education. Literary research suggests the truth of the hypothesis, making attending college and finishing with Master`s Degree the most effective. In the practical section I make successful verification of the hypothesis using calculations of the Internal rate of returns, the Net present value and the individual Rate of returns on investment in education. Finishing studies with Bachelor`s Degree appears to be far less beneficial than with Master`s Degree. This thesis may help students who are facing the dilemma whether to go to university or not, or to those who consider continuing their education after finishing Bachelor studies.
