V době přetížené silniční infrastruktury se začínají hledat cesty, jakým způsobem uvolnit infrastrukturní kapacity a zároveň přispět k ochraně životního prostřední, například přesunem dálkové nákladní dopravy ze silnice na železnici. Jedním z nástrojů umožňujícím tuto transformaci by mohla být Veřejná logistická centra. Tento koncept již několik let funguje v západní Evropě a požadavek na vybudování těchto uzlů kombinované dopravy se pomalu dostává i do České republiky. Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit potenciál VLC a jejich vlivu na regionální rozvoj pomocí zahraničních zkušeností. V práci jsou posouzeny teoretické aspekty investic do infrastruktury toho typu a také předpokládané dopady lokalizace VLC do cílových regionů. Výsledkem zkoumání jsou slabé stránky a doporučení pro případnou realizaci tohoto konceptu na našem území. In times when capacities of roads are starting to run out, it is necessary to search for any alternatives with environmental protection in mind. One of the options is to move some of the road freight transport to railways. One of the possible ways to achieve it is by using Public logistics centres. This concept is already in use in Western Europe and the demand for building terminals of combined transport is growing in the Czech Republic as well. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the potential of PLC and its influence on the regional development based on information from other countries. In the thesis, theoretical aspects of infrastructure investment and predicted effects of localization into targeted regions are assessed. Outcomes of this research are weaknesses and suggestions for potential implementation of this concept in the Czech Republic.
