Tato práce se zabývá problematikou plýtvání potravinami z celosvětového hlediska. Cílem práce je komplexní shrnutí této problematiky z dostupných světových zdrojů i na základě vlastních zkušeností z praxe v zařízeních veřejného stravování. V práci jsou vymezeny oblasti plýtvání v rámci potravinového řetězce, určeny ekonomické, sociální a environmentální důsledky plynoucí z nešetrného nakládání s potravinami a popsány organizace a společnosti zabývající se předcházením plýtvání potravinami. Zároveň jsou poskytnuta doporučení k prevenci vzniku potravinového odpadu v domácnostech. Praktická část práce analyzuje potravinový odpad v českých domácnostech, měřený po dobu jednoho týdne. This thesis deals with the issue of food waste from the global perspective. The aim of the thesis is to summarize this issue from available world sources and on the basis of its own experience from the practice in public catering facilities. The thesis defines areas of food waste within food chain, identifies the economic, social and environmental consequences resulting from careless food handling and describes organizations and companies dealing with the prevention of food wastage. There are recommendations for the prevention of food waste in households. The practical part of the thesis analyzes food waste in Czech households, measured for one week.
