Práce se věnuje tématu hraní stolních her u dospělé populace. Definuje hru, vymezuje její formální znaky a popisuje její význam v průběhu života. Podrobněji se zabývá fenoménem stolních her (deskových a karetních) a předkládá jejich kategorizaci. Seznamuje čtenáře se světem herních nadšenců. Ve druhé části je věnována pozornost psychologickému hledisku hraní, zejména sociálnímu aspektu her, soutěživosti a problematice flow. Praktická část obsahuje analýzu jednotlivých kritérií, která vedou k oblíbenosti stolních her. Na základě dotazníkového šetření práce popisuje motivaci hráčů, prožitky při hraní a faktory, které vedou k oblíbení si jednotlivých her. Porovnává rozdíly mezi skupinami respondentů (rozdělenými podle věku, pohlaví, či vzdělání). This thesis describes tabletop games and the game-playing among adults. The work starts with an introduction of play, its formal characteristics, and the importance of playing throughout one's life. A special focus is given to board games and card games. I provide taxonomy of these games, as well as an introduction to the world of adult game fans. The second part of the thesis describes the phenomenon of playing from the psychological point of view. I give a special consideration to the social side of gaming, competitiveness, and to the game flow. The practical part of the work analyzes factors which contribute to the popularity of individual games. It focuses on the gamer's motivation towards the gameplay, and the experiences provided by a particular game. Results of a questionnaire are discussed, as well as the differences between groups of respondents as determined by age, sex, and the level of education.
