Tato práce se soustředí na fenomén vedoucí ruky se zaměřením na možné rozdíly mezi leváky a praváky ve verbálních a prostorově-orientačních dovednostech. Teoretickým základem pro takové rozdíly může být například jiná organizace specializovaných funkčních oblastí v mozkových hemisférách mezi těmito dvěma skupinami nebo jiné vnější vlivy. Rozdíly mezi leváky a praváky ve zmíněných dovednostech řešila již řada studií, nicméně výsledky nejsou konzistentní. V mém výzkumu jsem se zaměřila na skupinu žáků základních škol ve věku 10 - 11 let. Žáci byli skrze předvedení deseti běžných činností rozřazeni na leváky a praváky. Písemnou formou byly testovány prostorově-orientační dovednosti a jazykově- analytické schopnosti, ústně byla testována slovní produkce. Statistické výpočty provedené skrze mnohonásobnou analýzu rozptylu ukázaly, že největší vliv na výsledky dosažené ve všech testech má věk. Vliv pohlaví byl nalezen pouze ve slovní produkci, kdy dívky dosáhli lepších výsledků. Vliv vedoucí ruky byl taktéž zjištěn pouze v případě slovní produkce, kdy praváci dosáhli lepších výsledků. V obou těchto případech se však jednalo pouze o trend. Nebyla nalezena kolísavost vlivu pohlaví mezi leváky a praváky, ani kolísavost vlivu vedoucí ruky mezi dívkami a chlapci. This thesis focuses on the phenomen of handedness and possible differences at verbal skills and spatial orientation abilities among left-handers and right-handers. The theoretical basis for these potencial differencies may be discrepancies in the distribution of specialized functional areas in the brain hemispheres among these two groups or environmental factors. Differences between left-handers and right-handeres have been explored in a series of studies but the findings remainded inconclusive. In my study I focused on a group of elementary school pupils at the age of 10 to 11 years. Pupils were classified as left or right-handers after performing ten common manual tasks. Language-analytical and spatial orientation tests were administrated in a paper form, verbal fluency was tested orally. Statistical calculation carried out through multivariate analyses of variance revealed that age has significant influence on the results of the pupils. The effect of sex was found only at the verbal fluency task, where the girls outperformed the boys. The effect of handedness was found also only at the verbal fluency task, where the right-handers outperformed the left-handers.
