Práce se zabývá představením Úřadu spolkového zmocněnce pro dokumenty bývalé Státní bezpečnosti NDR jako jedné z možností, jak se vyrovnat s komunistickou minulostí. Práce je zaměřena na období úřadu pod vedením Marianne Birthler, jež ho vedla v letech 2000 až 2011. Toto období není v české literatuře dosud zpracováno a nabízí pomyslné navázání na již vzniklé publikace týkající se především prvního období úřadu, tj. prvních deset let pod vedením Joachima Gaucka. Cílem práce je prostřednictvím přiblížení úřadu pod vedením Marianne Birthler zodpovědět otázky, zda došlo k posunům oproti předchozímu období úřadu pod vedením Joachimem Gauckem, a jak byla koncepce úřadu transformována v tomto následujícím období. Instituci se podařilo etablovat jako účinný nástroj pro vyrovnávání se s minulostí, což dokazují vysoké počty stále podávaných žádostí o nahlížení do spisu s informacemi, které byly nasbírány východoněmeckou tajnou službou Stasi. Úřad je zároveň symbolem a vzorem pro podobné instituce etablující se zpožděním v ostatních postkomunistických zemích. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to show the office of the Stasi Records Agency as one of the ways how to deal with the communist past. The work is focused on the period of office under the leadership of Marianne Birthler, who led it from 2000 to 2011. This period in Czech literature is not yet processed and offers notional're already incurred publications relating primarily to the first period of office, i.e. the first ten years under the leadership Joachim Gauck. Through approach Authority under the guidance and answer questions whether there shifts compared to the previous period Authority under the leadership of Joachim Gauck, and how the concept of office transformed in the following period. The institution has managed to establish itself as an effective tool for dealing with the past, as evidenced by the high number ever submitted applications for access to documents with information which were collected by the Ministry for State Security - Stasi. The Office is also a symbol and a model for similar institutions newly started late in other post-communist countries.
