V teoretické části je zaměřena na vývoj ošetřovatelství, sesterské profese a vzdělávání zdravotních sester, sleduje nároky tohoto povolání, zahrnuje teorii motivace a demotivace. Je zde popsána osobnost zdravotní sestry, její role a kompetence. Empirická část je provedena pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu, ve kterém jsou dotazovány dvě skupiny sester. První skupina jsou sestry starší, pracující již za dob socialismu, druhou skupinou jsou mladší sestry, které nastoupily do svého zaměstnání kolem r. 2005. Každá tato skupina je složena ze čtyř respondentek. The theoretical part concentrates on changes in nursing care, education, professional demands and motivation/demotivation theory. The nurse personality is analysed including changing roles and competences. The empirical part includes qualitative research based on interviews of two groups of nurses. The first group is senior nurses who worked prior to the end of socialism and the latter commensed work after 2005. Each group includes 4 interviews. This dissertation analyses nurse's opinions on the profession, changes and the effects on private and family life.
