Práce podává informace provázející světem vrtných průzkumných prací v geologii, ať už se jedná o podání historického kontextu vrtných prací v daleké minulosti a jejich účelovosti, tak o snahu přivést čtenáře do složitosti logiky vrtání a k vrtání potřebných znalostí a techniky. Zároveň práce popisuje vrtné těleso, společně s pracemi, které jsou potřeba vykonat před zahájením větších vrtných projektů. Vzhledem k zaměření práce nejen na vrtnou techniku a technologii, dává tato práce základní informaci o využívaných postupech při inženýrskogeologickém průzkumu. Klíčová slova: vrt, vrtná souprava, korunka, jádro, inženýrskogeologický průzkum The publication serves for information about drilling in geology, it describes histrorical context of drilling in the distant past and its purpose but also the reader is introduced with the complex logic of drilling and knowledge of drilling techniques. Simultaneously this publication describes borehole together with all works which must be done before bigger projects of drilling begins. Because the publication isn't only about drilling technique and technology so basic informations about ground investigation methods are in this publication too.
