Images taken with macro lenses, microscope lenses or lenses with large focal length suffer from shallow depth of field. It is possible to take several images of the scene and combine them artificially into one sharp image. In this work we review known approaches to exdended depth of field (EDF) and in detail discuss several chosen algorithms, both working in spatial domain and through wavelet transform. We implemented a framework for EDF algorithms in Java as an ImageJ plugin with all the chosen algorithms. Afterwards we compared their performance on both artificial and real datasets. Among the tests were also robustness to Gaussian and impulse noise. We also discuss the most common artifacts and disadvantages of the algorithms. 1 Snímky pořízené mikrospopem, makro objektivy nebo objektivy s velkou ohnisko- vou vzdáleností mají malou hloubku ostrosti. Je ovšem možné pořídit několik snímků scény a poté je uměle zkombinovat do jednoho ostrého snímku. V této práci se zabýváme možnými přístupy pro prodlužování hloubky ostrosti a po- drobně popíšeme několik vybraných algoritmů, zastupujících dva hlavní přís- tupy: algoritmy pracující v prostorové doméně obrazu a waveletové algoritmy. Implementovali jsme framework pro prodlužování hloubky ostrosti pro oba tyto přístupy v jazyce Java jako plugin do aplikace ImageJ se všemi vybranými algo- ritmy. Následně jsme porovnávali jejich výkon, a to jak na reálných datech, tak i umělých. Mezi testy byla také odolnost vůči Gausovu a impulznímu šumu. Také jsme rozebraly nejčastější produkované artefakty a nevýhody všech algoritmů. 1
