Vývoj nových přístrojů s ukládáním dat do paměti a později i s jejich přenosem přes pevnou a mobilní telefonní síť přinesl nové poznatky, zlepšil diagnostiku a léčbu. U chronických chorob je výhodný telemonitoring důležitých proměnných – glykémie u diabetu, hmotnosti u srdečního selhání a hodnot krevního tlaku u nejčastější kardiovaskulární choroby arteriální hypertenze. U hypertenze umožňuje měření doma či v práci během dne lépe posoudit úspěšnost léčby, snížit počet návštěv a zvýšit spolupráci pacienta. Development of new devices with a data storage, later also with their transport via the stable and mobile telephone network brought new knowledge and improved diagnostics and therapy. In chronic diseases the telemonitoring of important variables – glycemia in diabetes, body weight in heart failure and blood pressure in arterial hypertension – is advantageous. It enables BP readings at home and in work for a better evaluation of therapy, to reduce number of visits and improve patients´ collaboration.
