Abstract: With the development of information and communication technology, medical informatics research is focusing on development of electronic medical guidelines that should serve for effective support of medical decision based on direct interaction with electronic patient records. The paper gives the overview of the research in this medical informatics field and discusses its significance for telemedicine.
