Povodí řeky Athabasca se nachází v území, které je ovlivňováno mnoha faktory. Během posledního století se zde projevuje oteplování klimatu, což má za následek především zvyšování teplot a tání ledovců v pramenné oblasti. Značná část povodí na středním toku je využívána pro zemědělství, pro které je k zavlažování odčerpávána voda z řeky Athabasca. V posledních letech v povodí probíhá kontroverzní rozvoj těžby bituminózních písků, které sice představují reálný energetický zdroj, jejich těžba však vyžaduje velké množství vody, která je z větší části odebírána z řeky Athabasca. V práci je proto analyzována změna v odtoku během posledních čtyřiceti let na horním, středním a dolním toku. Spolu s časovými řadami průtoků jsou analyzovány změny teplot vzduchu a srážkových úhrnů, které mohou také vysvětlovat změny v odtoku. During the last century, the global warming manifests here, resulting primarily into increasing temperatures and glaciers melting in the headwaters area. Much of the middle reaches watershed is used for agriculture, for irrigation of which water from the Athabasca River is pumped. In recent years, controversial development of bituminous sands mining is carried out in the basin. Although it represents a real energy source, the mining requires large amounts of water, which is largely drawn from the Athabasca River. The work therefore analyzes the runoff change in the upper, middle and lower reaches during the last forty years. Along with the time series air temperature changes and precipitation totals, which can also explain runoff changes, are analyzed. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
