Práce se zaměřuje na možnosti mapování starých ekologických zátěží na území České republiky pomocí dálkového průzkumu Země. Důvodem je možnost kontaminace okolního prostředí nejrůznějšími látkami, které mohou poškozovat zdraví obyvatel. Hlavní pozornost je zaměřena na metody v projektu Národní inventarizace kontaminovaných míst, jelikož je to hlavní projekt probíhající v České republice, který se této problematice věnuje. Dále také práce shrnuje historické pozadí mapování kontaminovaných míst v České republice, a jeho existující databáze. Další část se věnuje situaci ohledně mapování v zahraničí, zejména ve Spojených státech a Kanadě. Je zde znázorněno, jaké mapové výstupy lze pro určitou lokalitu získat na základě pořízených dat. Klíčová slova: Stará ekologická zátěž, NIKM, SEKM, DPZ, kontaminovaná místa, GIS Work concentrates on possibilities of mapping of contaminated sites in the Czech Republic by the means of remote-controlled exploration of the Earth. The reason for that is the possibility of contamination of surroundings by various substances which can damage the health of inhabitants. The main focus is concentrated on the methods of the "National Contaminated Sites Inventory" project, as it is currently the main project taking place in the Czech Republic which is dealing with this problems. The work summarizes the historical mapping of contaminated places in the Czech Republic and there are mentioned the existing databasesy. Other part is dedicated to the situation in mapping abroad, especially in the United States and Canada.
