cze Abstract:
The central character of novels was compared with the characteristics of The Big detective who was described in the secondary sources. In the second part of the thesis, the literature works are compared with the films. The results show that lieutenant Borůvka can be considered The Big detective, however, there are some differences. The thesis discovers that Josef Škvorecký as an author of these Czech literature works made a literature type of the detective who is popular in the world literature and he meets the requirements for the detective genre.
