Chemical composition of microalgae biomass is not an intrinsic constant factor, but it changes depending on cultivation conditions. Addition of microalgal biomass cultivated under adverse conditions can enhance nutritional value of conventional food preparations and positively affect the health of humans and animals. The microalgal biomass was produced under adverse cultivation conditions (high dissolved oxygen and/or suboptimal temperature under high irradiance) were applied to increase the carotenoids content Chemické složení řasové biomasy není stalé, ale mění se v závislosti na kultivačních podmínkách. Přídavek řasové biomasy kultivované v masových kulturách za nepříznivých růstových podmínek může zvýšit nutriční hodnotu potravy a příznivě působit zdraví lidí i zvířat. Biomasa mikrořas byla pěstována za nepříznivých podmínek (vysoká koncentrace kyslíku v suspenzi a/nebo snížená teplota za vysoké ozářenosti), aby byla zvýšen obsah karotenoidů
