Předkládaná práce detailně popisuje proces získání Braniborského markrabství císařem Karlem IV. Užívá při tom listinných i narativních pramenů především k podrobnému zmapování vojenských operací z let 1371 - 1373, které k získání Branibor vedly. Dále se práce věnuje výkladu historie úsilí o získání Branibor v politicko-teritoriálních ambicích Karla IV., motivacemi, které k přechodu braniborského kurfiřství do rukou českého krále vedly a diplomatickou činností císaře, která s tímto cílem souvisela. V samostatné kapitole se pak tato práce zabývá strukturou vojska, které měl Karel IV. k dispozici během dvou braniborských tažení. Jejím cílem je být příspěvkem k dosud nedostatečně popsané problematice užití vojenské síly Karlem IV. i k českým vojenským dějinám druhé poloviny 14. století. Bavorský, Země Koruny české, 14. století The aim of this thesis is to describe in detail the process of acquisition of the Margraviate of Brandenburg by Holy Roman Emperor and king of Bohemia Charles IV. It uses charters, chronicles, annals and other contemporary sources to map especially the military actions of the years 1371 - 1373, which eventually led to the conquest of Brandenburg. Furthermore, the thesis concentrates on the history of Charles IV's endeavour to seize this land in relation to his political and territorial ambitions. It is also concerned with Emperor's motivations and his diplomatic activities regarding Margraviate of Brandenburg and its seizure. In a special chapter it describes the structure of the army that Charles IV had at his disposal during the two campaigns to Brandenburg. The overall aspiration of this thesis is to be beneficial to the study of the uses of military might by Charles IV, as well as to the Czech military history of the second half of 14. century.
