ŽENY A PODPRSENKA: KVALITATIVNÍ ZKOUMÁNÍ SOCIOKULTURNÍCH KONTEXTŮ JEJÍHO UŽÍVÁNÍ - ABSTRAKT Práce se zabývá podprsenkou nejen jako dnes již neodmyslitelnou součástí ženského oblečení, která v rámci historie odívání prošla velmi zajímavým vývojem, od zahalování poprsí pruhy látky, přes korzet v jeho různých podobách, až po podprsenku, jak ji známe dnes. Na tuto relativně intimní část ženského spodního prádla je nahlíženo i jako na fenomén s řadou sociokulturních a psychosociálních aspektů. Pozornost je zpočátku věnována proměnám způsobů zahalování a tvarování poprsí, vlivu textilně-technologických inovací na podobu spodního prádla, poté počátkům a vývoji podprsenky a posléze proměnám jejích funkcí a symbolických významů. Další část práce přináší zprávu o realizaci nevelkého kvalitativního šetření. Ta nejprve přibližuje jeho teoretická a metodologická východiska, včetně nezbytného exkurzu do základních principů a charakteristik kvalitativního zkoumání jako specifického přístupu k sociální skutečnosti. Poté seznamuje s přípravou a organizací kvalitativní výzkumné sondy provedené prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s 21 respondentkami. Předmětem dotazování byly především jejich názory na nabídku v segmentu trhu se spodním prádlem, jejich pohledy na funkce podprsenky, jejich osobní historie nošení... WOMEN AND THE BRA: QUALITATIVE RESEARCH INTO SOCIOCULTURAL CONTEXTS OF ITS USE - SUMMARY This paper presents the brassiere not just as an essential part of women's clothing which has undergone very interesting evolution, from a strip of cloth or leather covering and forming the breasts, through corsets in various shapes and sizes to the bra in the form as we know today. This rather personal part of women's underwear is also introduced as a phenomenon with many sociocultural and psychosocial aspects. The first part of the paper focuses on different ways of forming and shaping of the bust throughout history, on innovations in textile technology which influenced the look of underwear in general, on the beginnings and evolution of the brassiere and on changes in its functions and symbolism in recent history. The second part describes preparatory work for a modest qualitative study. It presents theoretical and methodological grounds of the study, including an essential introduction of basic principles and characteristics of qualitative research as a specific approach to social reality.
