Voice problems are kown to be common among voice professionals, e.g. teachers. More information is needed on biomechanical forces related to voice production in order to be able to set safety limits for voice use in various professions. Impact stress, defined as the impact force divided by the contact area of the vocal folds, is an important variable in quantifying the mechanical load posed on the vocal fold tissue during voice production. Hlasoví profesionálové např. učitelé mají často problémy se svým hlasem. Proto je potřeba více informací o biomechanických silách ve vztahu k produkci hlasu tak, aby bylo možno stanovit bezpečné limity pro používání hlasu v různých profesích. Rázová napjatost je definována jako rázová síla dělená kontaktní plochou hlasivek při jejich nárazu. Rázové napětí je důležitá proměnná pro kvantifikaci mechanického namáhání hlasivkové tkáně během hlasového projevu.
