Cílem práce bylo sestavit text uceleně pojednávající o díle a životě malíře Františka Jakuba Prokyše, který působil od konce 40. let do počátku 80. let 18. století v jižních Čechách. První část práce tvoří stať sestavená na základě podrobně zpracovaných archivních pramenů a literatury věnující se malířovu osobnímu i profesnímu životu. Události jsou řazeny chronologicky s důrazem na podložená fakta a zahrnuty jsou také poznámky o objednavatelích. Pro dokreslení je na úvod vložena kapitola podrobně se zabývající uměleckým prostředím v Českých Budějovicích, kde malíř žil a působil. Druhou částí textu je podrobný katalog malířových děl. Práce jsou rozdělené podle druhu na závěsné obrazy, nástěnnou malbu, práce jiného druhu, nedochovaná díla a připisované práce. Každé heslo má pevnou strukturu, která se mírně liší v závislosti na druhu práce. Na začátku hesla je uveden název díla, technika, datace a provenience nebo lokalita. Následuje seznam pramenů a literatury, na který navazuje první část textu hesla, kde jsou prameny i literatura podrobně zhodnoceny. Pokud bylo možné zjistit, jsou k dílu připojeny historické souvislosti jeho vzniku. V případě nástěnných maleb je zařazen také stručný popis stavby nebo interiéru, kde se tato nachází. Důležitou částí je formální popis díla, stav jeho dochování a... The aim of this thesis was to write a monograph of the painter František Jakub Prokyš, who lived and worked in 18th century in the south of Bohemia. The first part is text put together from thoroughly examined archival sources and literature. It deals with the painter's private and professional life. The text is separated into compact chapters. The events are arranged chronologically. There are also included notes explaining in more detail the profiles of his customers. The main part of the text is the thorough cataloguing of Prokyš's works of art. The works are separated into groups according to the type of work such as pendant pictures, wall paintings, no longer existing works of art and other attributed works. Each catalogue entry has a unified structure. There is the title, technique, dating and origin at the beginning. Then follows the list of the archival sources and literature. In cases where it was possible, historical information about the works of art is included. An important part of the text is the description of the art piecework of art and its comparison with the painter's other works. There are mentioned the patterns of the works, if they were discovered during the research for this thesis. A separate part deals with the topic of iconography.
