Fotosystémy (PS) typu I jsou charakterizovány tím, že jako koncový akceptor elektronů u nich slouží Fe-S centrum. Tyto komplexy se vyskytují u zástupců 4 skupin prokaryot a všech fotosyntetizujících eukaryot. V práci jsou popsány současné znalosti o struktuře a funkci jejich proteinových podjednotek. U Heliobacteria se nachází nejjednodušší známý PS, který je homodimerní a sestává ze 2 proteinů. U zelených sirných bakterií je PS také homodimerní a sestává ze 4 proteinů včetně membránově vázaného cytochromu. U nově objeveného Candidatus Chloracidobacterium thermophilum je homodimerní PS fungující v aerobních podmínkách. Reakční centrum dobře prozkoumaného PS I u sinic je stejně jako v případě eukaryotického PS I heterodimerní. Tento PS je složen z 12 proteinů a za nízkého ozáření se seskupuje do trimerů. U zelených rostlin je tvorba trimeru zcela potlačena a PS I (alespoň 15 proteinů) je adaptován na vazbu mnoha membránových proteinů sloužících jako vnější světlosběrné antény. Určité odlišnosti ve stavbě PS I se vyskytují u skupin Rhodophyta a Glaukophyta. O evolučním původu PS I existuje mnoho hypotéz. Poslední společný předek všech PS sdílel pravděpodobně vlastnosti typů I i II. V práci je diskutován účel a způsob vzniku heterodimeru PS I. Detailní objasnění struktury PS I u prokaryotických organismů a... Type I Photosystems (PS) are characterized by a Fe-S cluster that serves as the terminal electron acceptor. They are present in 4 prokaryotic groups and all photosynthetic eukaryotes. This work summarizes the knowledge on the structure and function of PS I subunits. The simplest PS (homodimeric; only 2 subunits) is present in Heliobacteria. PS of green sulphur bacteria is also homodimeric and consists of 4 proteins including a membrane-bound cytochrome. The homodimeric PS of Candidatus Chloracidobacterium thermophilum is functional in aerobic conditions. The reaction center of the well-characterized PS I of Cyanobacteria has a heterodimeric structure; the same applies for the eukaryotic PS I. Cyanobacterial PS consists of 12 proteins and forms trimers under low light conditions. The trimer formation is completely suppressed in green plants. Their PS I (at least 15 proteins) is adapted to bind light-harvesting membrane proteins. The PS I of Glaukophyta and Rhodophyta is slightly different from green plants. Various hypotheses about the evolutionary origin of PS I exist. The last common ancestor of all PSs probably shared features of both Type I and Type II.
