(Sub)urbanizace výrazně mění charakter krajiny na předměstí. Přesun obyvatel a ekonomických aktivit do zázemí měst iniciuje změny krajinného pokryvu a struktury krajiny. Krajina se stává více fragmentovaná převážně díky dopravní infrastruktuře, která na sebe váže výstavbu nových komerčních a rezidenčních areálů. Hodnocení krajinné struktury je možné pomocí krajinných metrik. Pro analýzu nejbližšího okolí hlavního města Prahy bylo zvoleno 7 krajinných metrik (procentuelní zastoupení kategorií krajinného pokryvu, počet plošek, průměrná velikost plošky, index průměrného tvaru plošky, celková délka okrajů, průměrná vzdálenost nejbližšího souseda a DIVISION index). Zvolené metriky byly vybrány na základě rešerše světové literatury věnující se fenoménu urban sprawl. Cílem bylo vybrat metriky vhodně popisující krajinou kompozici a krajinnou konfiguraci, ale zároveň byl brán ohled na jejich snadnou interpretaci. Výsledky naznačují, že v pražském předměstí došlo za dobu 55 let k výrazným změnám v krajinné struktuře. Většina nové zástavby, ať už rezidenční nebo komerční je realizována na nových místech, především na zemědělské půdě. Evidentní je tedy její nedostatečná ochrana před rozpínající se zástavbou hlavního města. Klíčová slova: (sub)urbanizace, urban sprawl, krajinná struktura, krajinný pokryv,... Moving population and economic activities in the hinterland of cities initiates changes of land cover and landscape structure. The landscape becomes more fragmented mainly due to transport infrastructure that binds to the construction of new commercial and residential areas. Characterizing landscape structure is possible using landscape metrics. For the analysis of Prague hinterland was selected 7 landscape metrics (percentage of land cover categories, number of patches, mean patch size, mean shape index, total edge, mean distance to the nearest neighbour and DIVISION index). Metrics were selected based on the research of world literature dealing with the phenomenon of urban sprawl. The aim was to select appropriate metrics describing landscape composition and landscape configuration, but at the same time with clear interpretation. The results suggest that significant changes in the landscape structure occured during period of 55 yaers, in the Prague suburb. Most new buildings, whether residential or commercial, were built especially on former agricultural land. There is obviously lack of protection from the urban sprawl.
