Práce se zabývá interetnickými souvislostmi v tradiční bulharské hudbě, které byly v minulosti z různých důvodů často opomíjeny nebo marginalizovány. Jsou posuzovány sbližující procesy, které v oblasti tradiční hudby probíhají v důsledku kulturní interakce mezi jednotlivými balkánskými etniky. Je zkoumána úloha, již pro formování hudebního folklóru měla dlouhodobá příslušnost balkánského regionu k jednomu státnímu útvaru (Osmanské říši), jako jeden z faktorů, který mohl zásadně napomoci vzájemným kontaktům zúčastněných etnik. Autor opírá svá východiska o jazykovědný koncept tzv. balkánského jazykového svazu, v jehož rámci je zkoumán soubor jevů a konvergentních tendencí v jazycích geneticky nepříbuzných v rámci balkánského areálu a klade si otázku, zda je možno podobnou tezi formulovat i v oblasti hudby a na základě posouzení hlavních sbližujících procesů tak vymezit pomyslný balkánský hudební svaz. K tomuto účelu jsou vybrány dva výrazné fenomény, jež jsou přítomny v bulharském folklóru a určitým způsobem také v širším balkánském rámci. Dvouetnická hudebně-kulturní interakce je posuzována na obřadu nestinarstvo/anastenaria, lidovém mysteriu, vrcholícím tancem na žhavém uhlí, jenž je praktikován malými komunitami Bulharů a Řeků v několika sídlech jihovýchodní části Balkánského poloostrova.... The work deals with interethnic contexts in the traditional Bulgarian music, which in the past were often neglected or marginalized for various reasons. Convergent processes which take place as a result of cultural interaction between the Balkan ethnicities are assessed. A role of the long-term affiliation of the Balkan region with one state structure (the Ottoman Empire) is examined as one of the factors, which could significantly help mutual contacts between involved ethnicities. The author's starting points are based on the philological concept of the Balkan Linguistic Union, in which a set of phenomena and convergent tendencies in genetically unrelated languages of the Balkan area are researched. The author raises the question whether it is possible to formulate a similar thesis in the field of music and to define a notional Balkan Music Union based on the assessment of the main converging processes. For this purpose, two distinctive phenomena, which are both present in the Bulgarian folklore as well as, to certain extent, in a broader Balkan context, are selected.
