Abstract: Among the fundamental characteristical of solids are their elastic constants. As derivatives of the free energy, elastic constants are closely connected to thermodynamic properties of material. Extensive quantitative connection among thermodynamic properties can be made if the elastic constant are knownas function of temperatureand pressure.
