Abstract: The goal of this thesis is to try to pull together a multidimensional description of everyday life of Central Asia in the second part of the 19th century. The emphasis of the study is put on gender, class, social and ethnic specifics of population of Central Asia, as well as divide between nomadic and settled, urban and rural segments of the existing nations. In separate chapters the daily life is described according to the major spheres: economy (production), household, education, leisure, etc. Special attention is paid to the status of women of Central Asia.
