Abstract: The mannan-binding proteins of boar seminal plasma may be involved in the formation of the sperm oviductal reservoir in pig. The ability of these proteins to interact both with the complex of D-mannose-containing saccharide structures and heparin may also play an important role in the sperm release from the oviductal reservoir and in the capacitation process.
