Abstract: The master thesis deals with the definition of christian glossolalia and psychological findings concerning the phenomenon. The research part of the thesis presents a qualitative research based on thirteen case studies of Czech and Slovak christian glossolalics coming from the neopentecostal movement, which maps their experience and personality characteristics as measured by the Baum Test and the 16 PF Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire. It is supplemented by a short quantitative study showing that glossolalics score lower in Privateness as measured by 16 PF than non-glossolalic christians. Finally, some suggestions for future research are offered.
