Buněčná imunita je důležitou součástí imunitního systému. V případě jejího těžkého postižení vedoucí ke zvýšené náchylnosti pacienta k infekcím, mluvíme o imunodeficitním stavu. Existuje řada imunodeficitů. Jakým způsobem se imunodeficit projeví, záleží na tom, jaká složka imunitního systému je postižena. K vyšetření buněčné imunity je dostupná řada metod, které posuzují počet, zastoupení a funkci buněk imunitního systému.
