Abstract: Triggered spark gaps are very popular as fast high current switches.With proper desing, a triggered spark gap can switch megawatts of prower in few nanoseconds,with jitters,of les than a nanosecond.These devices make use of the very low impendance of an arc once the arc is estabilished.Two electrodes are separated by sufficient distance that the gap doesn't spontaneously breakdown.
