Abstract: Thermal spraying is a process in which the material in a powder form (with particle size between 20 and 150ćm) is melted, accelerated to a high velocity (20m/s up to 600m/s) and deposited on the substrate. The microstructure of sprayed materials is complex. It consists of irregular thin lamellae known as "splats", formed by rapid solidification of the impacted molten droplets.
