Abstract: Computer simulated models of planar Poisson-Voronoi and Johnson-Mehl tessellations are compared with a gradually growing thin spherulite layer of polypropylen. The growth kinetics is described and a non-homogeneous Johnson-Mehl tessellation is proposed as a suitable model.
