Theoretical part of this thesis deals at first with a dog breed Patterdale Terrier. There is also mentioned the beginning of the history of the breed, it´s characteristic description and formally recognized standard. Part of the bachelor is the economic analysis, which is made subjectively and could serve to possible new Patterdale Terrie breeders. This breed was subsequently used as the object of studying at the practical section. Furthermore, the work deals with the issue of magnetism, namely the phenomenon called magnetoreception. Are outlined here the main hypothesis of mechanisms functioning of magnetoreception.
The practical part of the bachelor is aimed at the body orientation monitoring of chosen dogs at water intake. Statistical analysis supported the hypothesis of North-South direction preference by different animals in various activities. Dogs were turning their bodies in a range of 170°-210°.
